The Scene
Tucked into an obscure corner of a south Buckhead strip mall, the Georgia Grill sparkles on the inside with jewel-like intensity. Christmas lights, cow skulls and the judicious use of Georgia O'Keefe memorabilia and prints combine to make the small main dining room feel relaxed and festive. Gracefully aging debutantes and their well-behaved husbands gather at intimate tables under the smooth care of a gracious staff, who offer dependable wine and menu advice.
The Food
The menu balances skillful handling of fresh seafood with creative twists on standard Southwestern fare. Buttery rich lobster enchiladas are full of the smoky heat of chipotle peppers. Crispy, cornmeal crusted fried catfish is highlighted by bright, lime accented jalapeno coleslaw. Even a traditional bar snack like jalapeno poppers appear in gourmet dress up, garnished with fresh salsa and spicy black beans. Richly textured chocolate mousse provides a soul-satisfying ending to the evening.
