In Short
The restaurant continues to attract an impressive slew of loyal A-listers in a competitive, expensive-steakhouse scene. Newcomers to the field may simply yawn at the tired dark woods and stuffy service, but there's still a patently masculine vibe that permeates the deep booths and keeps the good ol' boys grinning. The food is old-school steak done with elegance. Steak tartare is a sublime rendering of the classic. Your choice of traditional condiments (capers, red onion, whole-grain mustard) are mixed in tableside. Pair it with the briny sweetness of jumbo lump crab cake or the indulgent battered and fried lobster tail served with a side of lemon; then choose from impeccably broiled fillets, strips and porterhouses, and sides like creamed spinach and hash browns. Seafood lovers should not miss the sauteed and buttery whole Dover sole. Ice cream (especially banana-white chocolate) seems like the most sensible conclusion to this kind of meal.
