The Scene
Chiseled teak wood walls and horizontal lines give modern splashes to the dim digs, while the edamame-green wasabi booth wraps up parties and acts as a must-stare accent. A streaming water curtain provides a sexy divider between the bar and dining area, blurring images of life on the other side.

The Food
Steel's Pan-Asian menu boasts a wide variety with Japanese sushi, Korean beef and Chinese noodles all side by side--think gobbling up Buford highway in one pricey sitting. The playful sugarcane shrimp and chicken are wrapped lollypop-style around the sweet stick, while the seared beef tataki's tenderloin flavor somehow survives its scorching jalapeno and siracha sauce accompaniment. A potent ginger wasabi sauce dances nicely with the receptive sea bass entree, but the side of asparagus is oh-so-ordinary. For dessert, warm brandy fruit foster is spooned over cool vanilla ice cream for a palette cleansing finish.

Hits: The service is what you expect for the price--attentive, enthusiastic and knows the menu. It matches its style with equal substance.

Misses: The broad menu variety lacks in authenticity at times, leaving those wanting the traditional Asian experience a little disappointed.
