The Scene
The interior runs to blond wood, minimalist watercolors and sliding rice-paper doors. One dining room offers traditional seating and a sushi menu. In the other, knives flash and oils are juggled over a sizzling hibachi table. Patrons--heavy on kids, tourists and business travelers--are seated in groups of eight around the black marble-topped table.
The Food
The sushi menu is limited--maybe two dozen selections--but it's all ultra-fresh and skillfully executed. The tuna has a bit more berry to it, the rolls are tighter and hold together neatly, and the shrimp tempura is perfectly crunchy. Entrees, accompanied by vegetables and steamed or fried rice, include a lobster and filet mignon combination, along with shrimp and chicken.
