The people who work here are so nice, and the owner is absolutely precious, but sadly it doesn't help the food. I ordered tom yum soup with chicken, and...read more

The Scene
Midtowners can gaze across the bustling Ansley Mall parking lot from the restaurant's huge plate glass windows, all while enjoying the comfort of the tasteful mauve dining room. Bangkok isn't hip or often crowded, but it offers good, solid Thai.

The Food
Bangkok gives customers an option between mild, hot and Thai hot on many dishes. Thankfully, attentive servers are ready with water refills and an extra napkin for wiping away the sweat you'll form while battling jalapenos in the chicken tom yum soup. The smell of basil hits you before the fresh rolls--with their perfect row of tasty little shrimp--are even placed on the table. The meat in the coconut milk based curries is tender, but the curries are extremely sweet. Basil in the drunken noodle plate is almost overpowering, while the pad thai balances meat, vegetables and spices well.
