The Scene
Unless you're instinctively drawn to pink laminate countertops and artificial plants, chances are you'd walk right by this unassuming shotgun dining room. Situated on the fringes of the Buckhead nightlife district, it wins big with first-name basis service and reliable diner-style food. Look for the local business crowd just before the early morning meetings and again at midday.
The Food
More than 200 items are listed on a menu that's a little bit Greek diner, a little bit Southern meat-and-three. The best bets are the lunch specials, served from a small cafeteria line. Load up with chicken parmigiana and fried calves liver, beans and franks and baked chicken. Or make a meal around anything from garlicky sauteed spinach, to earthy fresh crowder peas, to richly layered moussaka. Throw in a slice of Mexican cornbread and some sweet tea, say ''yes ma'am'' a lot, and you've just found a brand new local.
