The Scene
Skeptics who think Ann Taylor and Ikea are all Atlantic Station has to offer may be appeased by the opening of Lobby at Twelve from the creators of Two Urban Licks. Tall stools stand sentinel around the ''floating'' horseshoe bar, with a wood-burning fire as the focal point. Tastefully muted lighting and warmly hued furnishings accentuate the sophisticated vibe of the dining area.
The Food
This is one hotel where guests might actually linger instead of going out. The menu features new American cuisine with inventive touches--even the burger is crowned with chichi Italian cheese. Vegetarians can try the basil-infused eggplant pizza, while the more adventuresome diner can opt for the wood-grilled whole fish. The classy clientele is more prone to wearing sportcoats instead of athletic wear, and if the jeans are torn, they're likely to be designer denim.
