The Scene
Curvy wood fixtures, playful lighting, lots of bright colors and signs exhorting patrons to ''live,'' ''love'' and ''eat'' reflect the frenetic pace of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck's first foray into the Atlanta market. Customers--a typically diverse Midtown bunch--queue to place orders at the front register. Food is delivered from the open kitchen moments later by a peppy, black-clad-and-beautiful server.
The Food
A fairly extensive menu--anchored by Puck's signature pizzas--should please picky eaters, avowed foodies and nearly everyone in between. A simple barbecue sandwich is distinguished by its meaty slices of chicken and unusually sweet sauce. Chinois chicken salad features a generous portion of meat atop shredded cabbage, dressed with a tangy honey-mustard vinaigrette. Pizzas range from the classic Margherita--quality mozzarella and parmesan over a garlicky tomato sauce--to an indulgent smoked salmon pie, piled high with cream chese and generous slices of fish. Desserts, such as an obscenely large slice of Key lime pie, are uniformly good.
