The Scene
The deck of this bar and grill attached to tiny DeKalb-Peachtree Airport overlooks single-engine planes arriving and departing (and, on a clear day, Stone Mountain). The unique perspective and efficient staff make it an ideal place to bring children, out-of-town guests or aviation enthusiasts. Inside, there's a plainly-furnished bar with a zillion airplane pictures on the wall.
The Food
Stick to basic bar grub like jalapeno poppers, crunchy chicken fingers and surprisingly good fried calamari. The lunch cheeseburger is simply good, but there's also an ambitious dinner burger, stuffed with cheese, mushrooms and onions. The fried chicken dinner, billed as the chef's specialty, is a modest-sized portion lightly fried, served with green beans and brussel sprouts in white sauce. Greek items like spanikopita sound relatively exotic, but prove to be safe bets.
