The Scene
Lush ferns, a trickling fountain, wrought-iron fencing and dark-wood accents welcome neighborhood residents and day-trippers to Atlanta's original counterculture area. The decor is a touch more modern than its sister restaurant in Midtown. Staying true to the theme of the restaurant, walls are covered with front-page newspaper clippings. An upstairs loft houses a few tables for intimate dining or cocktail sipping; the lower level is a mix of tables and booths.
The Draw
People come here for the cocktails and hearty Cajun-style fare. A make-your-own-bloody-mary bar beckons weekend revelers with an enormous array of hot sauces, spices, olives and mixers. While drinks are flowing freely, you can fill your belly on generous portions of po-boys, fried appetizers, seafood gumbo, burgers and crab cakes. Sunday brunch is also popular with omelettes and heaping sides like andoille sausage, bacon and grits.
