The Scene
Ferns, flickering gas lights and fountains adorn the patio; inside is more like a tavern, with dark wood and framed newspaper clippings that reinforce the restaurant's theme. The expansive patio is the big draw, especially after work and late night. Midweek, the crowd is a mix of loosened ties and little-black-dress dates, while weekends draw the work hard, play harder crowd.
The Draw
People come here for the cocktails and hearty Cajun-style fare. A make-your-own-bloody-mary bar beckons weekend revelers with an enormous array of hot sauces, spices, olives and mixers. While drinks are flowing freely, you can fill your belly on generous portions of po'boys, fried appetizers, seafood gumbo, burgers and crab cakes. Sunday brunch is also popular with omelettes and heaping sides like andouille sausage, bacon and grits.
