In Short
Tucked away in one of Atlanta's ubiquitous strip malls somewhere in the no man's land between Buckhead and Midtown, this no-frills neighborhood watering hole draws a diverse crowd for drinks and distractions. Despite its name there is nothing outdoorsy about this place; really more of an Irish pub vibe. And boasting they serve ''the best restaurant food a bar ever offered'' might be stretching it a bit, but the options are on par for standard sandwiches and bar burgers. When not hosting University of Texas alumni for weekend football games, the Bear hugs a crowd of Georgia Tech students, erstwhile businessmen and a mixed bag of locals. On Friday and Saturday nights, note the mind-bending $3.50 half-shot ''shorties'' from the bar, perfect to get things started for a buzzy weekend.
