The Scene
This dingy diner looks like it's straight out of ''Pulp Fiction,'' complete with an open kitchen and white-haired waitresses. It retains a devoted following of regulars, all greeted by name. Paper-reading professionals, young families and the odd Emory student stop by for cholesterol-laden, down-home American classics.
The Food
Breakfast is big here: pancakes, hash browns, ham, sausage, Canadian bacon--you get the idea. Eggs your way or old-fashioned Denver omelets come with toast, meat and butter-slicked grits, all washed down with pleasing coffee. Lunch and dinner are even more retro, with grilled ham steak, roast beef, chicken livers, smothered chicken and a choice of rich sides. It's not glam, but it tastes good.
