In Short
In the adorable and tucked away Oakhurst neighborhood, Steinbeck's is no bigger than a shoebox but has enough charm to fill a big box chain in a shopping center. Although it's only been around for a few years, the quaint place doesn't look a day under 30, with chalk board daily specials and Jimmy the bartender's Irish accent giving it an all too authentic feel. Though this pub's menu is limited, it is rife with oddball selections; hearty bar fare with flare. The house burger comes loaded with sneaky jalapenos while the mac and cheese get truffles thrown in for good measure. The bratwurst is tough to attack but worth the effort, covered with sautéed mushrooms and onions. With only a few flat screens and a bar that seats less than 10, this little old school joint is a neighborhood classic.
