The Scene
Ciccio & Tony's is a busy neighborhood restaurant specializing in Italian dishes. Colorful, modern tablecloths and comfy lawn chairs give its outdoor patio a relaxing ambience. Inside, it's air-conditioned, but again, the place feels a little loose, with strands of tiny Christmas lights draped across the bar adding a festive tone, and the jovial servers making jokes and gently teasing the diners.
The Food
I love this place and I haven't even mentioned the food: terrific. One night, I ordered the grilled stuffed eggplant with goat cheese, basil and tomato puree, and it was so light and delicious I wanted to order seconds.
A teen in our party ordered linguini with sliced breast of chicken, fresh tomato and spinach, perfectly cooked al denteso important in a pasta dish. The penne pasta, bathed in four cheeses, was rich, creamy and totally satisfying. The salads are gorgeous, the bread homemade.
The Vedict
Perhaps Ciccio & Tony's only fault is its chief asset: It doesn't do fast food. Plan to linger and laugh over your meal, and you won't be disappointed.
