The Scene
Ever have one of those Friday nights when you end up crabby, at 10pm, having missed dinner? Most restaurant kitchens are closing, and it's either peanut butter and bed, or some grubby all-night diner. Ah, no need to suffer: Dress up, cheer up, and hit Ceviche (say-VEECH-ay), where the night is still young. Its pink-linened, candelit dining room is open till 2am weekends, and the intimate, six-seat bar rocks till 3.

The Food
Start with sangria, the Spanish national beverage, which is sweet red wine punctuated with fresh fruit. Then order a sampler of cold Spanish tapas, small servings of marinated scallops, grilled asparagus or shrimp, fresh sauced tomatoes, cold potato salad. Order a couple of hot dishes, and don't forget to try the berenhena parilla: grilled eggplant baked with portabello mushrooms, tomato, olive oil and cheese. It's delightfully fresh and well prepared, including a meltingly perfect flan for dessert.
