This is a fun place. I went there for the first time since 1979 and the same band was playing. The crowd looked like a 70's Grateful Dead concert, then I...read more

The Scene
This half outdoor bandshell, half screened-in restaurant is the area's bastion of jam and edgy roots rock. It's definitely the only sand-floor concert venue where you can pop inside and get a half-dozen oysters between sets.
The Draw
Dig into Skipper's hush puppies, conch fritters, gator tail or jerked chicken with your choice of sides. More Southern-inspired delicacies on the menu: oysters, beer-boiled shrimp and blackened fish. For music, catch everything from touring road dogs like Southern Culture on the Skids, Trout Fishing in America, and the mighty Reverend Billy C. Wirtz while you dance in the sand or lounge on the lawn furniture or driftwood-inspired bench tables. You can also groove to the noodling guitar of the latest Grateful Dead cover band.
