The Scene
The restaurant's property adjoins a bird sanctuary that overlooks Tampa Bay. If you're waiting for a table, you can walk out on the dock and see birds like terns, pelicans and red-wing blackbirds. The inside is decorated with a pretty palette of sandy Florida colors that enhance a classy, but not stuffy, dining room. It's dressy, but not lavishly so--upscale, but low-key.
The Food
The seafood-heavy menu features a selection of steak and chicken dishes, plus reliable soups and salads complimented by tasty bread. Fresh fish is the specialty, including grouper, swordfish, salmon, tuna, snapper and more, served sauteed, mesquite-grilled, blackened, poached or broiled with a choice of creamy dill sauce, berry balsamic reduction, scotch bonnet tartar or bourbon barbecue sauce. And don't forget to order dessert; the Key lime pie is excellent.
