The Scene
It's pretty and totally tidy--almost too spotless for a decent barbecue joint. Still, it passes the official sniff test: You can smell it before you see it. It's got a big, long bar with TV sets for those who just want to drop in for a cold one, and simple Formica tables and chairs for the rest who arrive with big eats in mind.
The Food
The menu consists of down-home American barbecue with all the trimmings. The best dish, hands-down, is barbecued ribs, which are so tender, the meat falls from the bone. The barbecue sauce is excellent, but the ''hot'' version might not be hot enough for some barbecue fans. Cole slaw is unusually crisp and fresh, and the roasted chicken is tender and smoky.
