This place is somewhat Americanized but the food is good. I usually judge places by their enchilada sauce and most places really like to mess with it....read more

The Scene
An old fast food-type building topped by a faded red and green roof. Inside, the former stand-in-line-to-order counter has been transformed with terra-cotta tile and wooden barstools. Tile-topped tables, stained-glass ceiling fans and TVs showing Spanish-language programs complete the picture. The service is friendly and eager to please. This could be a good place to practice your Spanish, but if you don't speak the native tongue don't fret; the waitstaff is also adept at gesturing until everyone feels understood.
The Food
The extensive menu of traditional Mexican dishes includes definitions for those unschooled in the difference between tacos, tamales, tortillas and tostaguacs (tostada with guacamole and meat). On Saturdays and Sundays, ''sabor Mexicano'' dishes (specials), such as rico menudo, coctel de camaron and tostadas de ceviche, are added to the menu. Order the combination or the ''make-your-own-because-you-asked'' dinners, which give you the most variety.
