In Short
Korean transplants, white-collar workers and karate students from the next door martial arts school are among the fortunate few who've discovered this Colonialtown hideaway. The exterior is inconspicuous-- look for the green awning and sign reading ''barbecue.'' Inside, find families grilling their own meats and vegetables on table-tops grills surrounded by an array of Korean side dishes known as banchan, which include the obligatory kimchi, spicy fermented cabbage and turnips. The rice is sticky and slightly sweet, and the hot woo-rong tea is bold and addictive. From the grill, try the kal bi marinated beef ribs, or for the more daring, some un-marinated cow tongue. The bim bim bop--whether cold or sizzling--is a satisfying conglomeration of barbecued beef, cucumbers, mushrooms and sprouts topped with a fried egg.
