The Scene
Tucked into bustling West Hartford Center, this bakery foregoes ambience for sumptuous lunches and desserts. There are no servers or tables, just the dreamy aroma of sweet confections wafting from the kitchen. Order at the counter and take your feast with you.
The Food
For lunch, try Aby's interpretation of the turkey sandwich, served on a crunchy, warm Portuguese baguette, or the mouthwatering empanadas--grilled chicken or spicy pork, onions and garlic enveloped then baked in flaky pastry dough. For something on the sweeter side, indulge in one (or two) of the signature desserts. The chocolate mousse cake (layered fudge sponge cake and chocolate mousse) is a definite must-try. Or treat yourself to the renowned Caramel Kiss, which starts with a sweet, caramel-drenched round cookie and ends dipped in homemade dark chocolate.
