In Short
Funky and fresh, a hip cacophony of colors and textures defines this upscale loungey spot. A reddish-orange glow cascades over two rooms, loosely divided by a see-through grate. The long bar (topped by geometric lights) zigzags between them. Owner-chef Richard Sandoval (also of Tamayo) presents Asian-Latin fusion food on a tapas-like menu. Most dishes pack a spicy punch, including lemongrass and lime broth tiger shrimp soup and a tidy chopped chicken salad with ginger vinaigrette.
Zengo is a sophisticated blend of Latin-Asian styles and flavors. Chef Richard Sandoval, whose accolades include Bon Appétit Restaurateur of the Year and Mexico's Toque d'Oro, artfully spins Latin-Asian ingredients into colorful, beautifully balanced dishes designed for sharing.
