The Scene
Fritto Misto is affordable and friendly--an innocuous cafe that's bright during the day for the cubicle set and cozy at night when the dinner crowd takes over.
The Food
Ample, inventive and eminently affordable, the pastas are fresh and toothsome. Call the shots yourself with the ''Create Your Own Pasta'' menu or leave the driving to the chef. Specialties range from old-school classics like chicken Marsala and lasagna to newfangled concoctions like Atomic Pasta--a simmering symphony of chili linguini, bell peppers, Cajun-spiced chicken breasts and a chipotle cream sauce. Starters are so good you may want to forgo entrees entirely. Dreamy pasta pillows are stuffed with seasoned ricotta cheese; the house salad is a vibrant melange of mixed greens, walnuts and pignoli; and a light Friday bowl of chowder is chock full of sweet clams and finely diced veggies.
