This Santa Monica seafood emporium lures crowds with its nautical atmosphere and seafood specials.

        In Short
During bustling prime-time hours, busy yet friendly servers deliver trays of fresh seafood to families, tourists and members of the local workforce. Appetizers include calamari or Cajun shrimp served with spicy tartar and thick cocktail sauce. Beyond its signature lobster special, the kitchen churns out fish entrees prepared with butter and herbs, or grilled over a hot-burning mesquite wood charcoal. There is also an oyster bar, which usually draws a crowd just after work lets out during the week.

        Message from Enterprise Fish Co.:

Surrounded by the nautical decor of a classic West Coast fish house, our restaurant's centerpiece is the display kitchen. Patrons can watch and smell their meals come to life, grilled to order over mesquite flame -- a culinary art form (and a healthy alternative) born generations ago in the Mexican coastal villages of Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan. Over the years, we've followed our appetites to the far regions of the Pacific Ocean, returning with a taste of diverse seafood traditions. Our menu features a virtual breadbasket of seafood flavors and styles of preparation. To ensure freshness and quality, we have always maintained close, long-term relationships with a handful of fish purveyors, many of whom live in the neighborhood and operate right down the street. Come visit today experience a true seafood dining adventure!

Built in 1917, the historic building now home to our Santa Monica restaurant was once a transfer station for the narrow-gauge Red Car line, Los Angeles' first mass transit system. It was later the repair house for the world-famous Pacific Ocean Park, home to the oldest wooden roller coaster west of the Mississippi. These days, we're still a stone's throw from Venice Beach, heart of where L.A. goes to play -- and eat. Also just a few blocks from the waterfront, our sister restaurant in Santa Barbara operates in a century-old brick building originally home to an industrial linen service for seaside hotels. While the Douglas fir floors, soaring ceilings, and glassed cupola have always been features of this historic structure, the sweeping arches facing State Street were added after much of the building crumbled during the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake.
