A cozy welcome to ''my neighborhood.''
The Food
Mio Vicino means ''my neighborhood'' in Italian, and that about sums up the kind of place Mio Vicino is trying to be. Pastas sometimes miss the mark with improbable combinations, but the Caesar salad, pizzas, and tiramisu have a broad following. Kids won't go for the pancetta-wrapped radicchio, so while you're tucking into that, order them a cheese pie. The house wine, Mio Red, is big, fruity, and a great value.
The Scene
There are three outlets of this family-friendly Italian restaurant. The one in Campbell is located in the Old Town area with a view of the water tower. An open kitchen keeps the place lively, especially for those cozied up at a counter seat. The flagship Santa Clara spot has pretty yellow brick walls and lots of windows and the Willow Glen location is bigger, with a rich, earthtone interior.
