Bites We Like
Miyake's is probably best known for its variety of local specials: the Cupertino Roll (white tuna, avocado, and tobiko); the San Jose Roll (white tuna, tobiko, and green onions); and a more recent addition, the spicy Chelsea Roll, in honor of the ''First'' offspring who joined Stanford's Freshman class a couple years back. Where else would you expect to see an Apple Roll (tuna), an IBM Roll (unagi), or an HP Roll (white tuna)?

Atmosphere
The swift-footed Miyake staff greets you with a holler, seats you with a holler, and doesn't stop hollering until you're paid up and out the door. Dinner can often be an even more boisterous affair, with coeds propped Tijuana-style on top of the tables, tossing back sake bombs in exchange for triumphant cheers from the crowd.

The Crowd
Frequented mainly by Stanford students and the local Palo Alto khaki-clad business crowd.
