The Scene
Don't come looking for ambience: Kirk's is a big cinderblock square obscured by a thick meaty fog. Order at the counter, take a seat at one of the blue vinyl booths, and wait for your number to be called. A small side patio with cafe umbrellas has significantly more charm, but you'll miss out on all of the drama out there.
The Food
It's burgers, burgers, burgers. Think single burgers, double burgers, burgers with cheese, burgers with pineapple, burgers with pineapple and cheese. They're called ''steakburgers'' here, and they do resemble filet mignon more than McDonald's. Western fries and scoop-shop ice cream round out the offerings.
