The Scene
With its dark industrial furnishings and dance-club decor, Blowfish attracts a young, affluent crowd who mingle well into the night at the sake bar. Those not into the singles scene pack the sushi bar, where skilled chefs put on a show of their own.
The Food
The restaurant is well-known for its fusion rolls, combining ingredients that might shock old-school sushi chefs. But these innovative combinations can be an exciting hit. For a tropical treat, try the Godzilla roll, a sweet combination of fresh mango, lightly caramelized cashews and roasted coconut. The Polynesian rolls mix flash-fried salmon and barbecued eel with juicy papaya and mango. On the traditional side, the chutoro, a marbled piece of tuna belly, is so tender and subtle in flavor that it stands on its own. Pair your meal with one of the specialty mixed drinks, like the crisp cucumber-sake cooler.
Blowfish Sushi is an eclectic sushi bar and restaurant that serves both modern and traditional sushi, sashimi, as well as salads. cooked appetizers, and special desserts. The menu style is called Asian Fusion and emphasizes clean, pure, healthy foods. Premium imported sakes and an original line of sake cocktails are featured in the restaurant's stunning liquor lounge.
