In Short
Fancier than the original North Hollywood location, this Glendale outpost of Skaf's sits on the corner of a small plaza overlooked by the 2 freeway. The family-owned joint, run by Mrs. Skaf herself, features an open dining room with large street-facing windows, stone floors and splashes of purple that create a cooling yet colorful mood. Be seated and have the staff take your order. Although it doesn't look like it--probably because the fridge is outside of the kitchen and there's no formal entrance--the restaurant does offer table service. Families file in to dine on crispy cheese rolls, chicken and beef shawarmas, fried frog legs, falafels and sweet baklava. Most plates start off with pitas, hummus, cabbage salad, served with buttery jasmine rice.
