In Short
Opened in 1946, Burbank's oldest restaurant sports a painted white-brick exterior and a large red-lettered logo. Inside, gingham curtains, a mural of the Rockies and a welded horseshoe hat stand create the Midwestern vibe. The U-shaped counter surrounds a serving station where bowls of chili start off simple--just the meat or veggie base--and work up from there. Patrons specify mild, medium or hot, and can request beans, spaghetti, cheese, sour cream and onions.
