In Short
Named after the amaranth grain that's used to make Mexican ''alegria'' candy, this cozy yet stylish eatery is where shoppers stop in for a little mall repreive and indulge in brunch, lunch or dinner. The menu ranges from familiar dishes like guacamole (made fresh tableside in a stone mortar and pestle) and chicken enchiladas to regional specialties such as Puebla mole, made from 18 different ingredients. There's also a to-go store featuring an extensive takeaway menu, traditional Mexican salsas and crafts for sale. (Photo credit: Howard Wise)
