The Scene
Houston's is a dreamy, candlelit Mecca where corporate types swill martinis among a steady supply of attractive ing?nues. Equally appealing food servers, gracefully maneuver around sentinel-like artificial cacti, rococo wood booths and burnished copper accents.
The Food
Though this Kansas City steakhouse has more than 40 locations across the country, don't expect the bland, for-the-masses approach that curses some national chains: Houston's is a restaurant in its own right, with a uniformly outstanding cuisine. The Hawaiian steak delivers on an amazingly lush marinade of pineapple, ginger and soy sauce, and the seared ahi tuna practically melts in the mouth. The spicy double-cut pork chop is a whopping wallop of juicy white meat that can carry you through to lunch the next day.
