The Scene
Worn wooden tables, a colorful tiled bar and a red stone floor suggest old world charm, but the cozy ambiance can sometimes be overpowered by the size of the crowd. The tiny restaurant is crammed with diners every day of the week, their conversations often competing with the live classical guitar featured nightly. Tapas may not be for those seeking privacy, but it's perfect for a night out with friends.
The Food
Diners flock here for the small plates, which include smoky rock shrimp soaked in white wine, garlic and parsley; rich Kobe beef slathered in blue cheese butter and topped with crispy onion strings; and a daily selection of empanadas and croquettes stuffed with a medley of meat, vegetables or fruit. Full-sized entrees include roasted Spanish peppers topped with sweet black rice and moist chicken breast atop baby spinach and creamy mashed potatoes.
