The Scene
Since the modern, airy space is oddly empty early on a Saturday night, it can seem as though most patrons are getting their food delivered. But, as the night wears on, diners filter in. Soon conversation drowns out the quirky pop music playing in the background.
The Food
The kitchen turns out Thai food with only a hint of Americanization. Familiar Asian appetizers, such as plump, juicy chicken satay and nicely fried Siam spring rolls, are dependable starters. But Kra-Thong-Tong, a Thai-style taco with chicken and veggies in a crunchy shell, makes for a more adventurous choice. Continue with the Outrageous Beef Salad; what's outrageous is the hard-to-describe clear dressing that is both piquant and citrusy. The Peanut Pleasure includes stir-fried broccoli, cabbage and tofu with just the right amount of peanut sauce. No Thai meal should be complete without fried bananas and ultra-sweet coconut ice cream, here done to perfection.
