The Scene
Groovy music jams in the background while customers happily step into block-long lines. Waiflike patrons can squeeze into a stool at the narrow metal counter but most just amuse themselves looking at the ''desperately seeking'' notices taped on the wall.
The Food
The mouthwatering, bagel-like crust is positively addictive. Surprising combinations like the Popeye's chicken pizza (with tequila- and lime-marinated chicken) transform a cheap lunch into a great meal. The best pie is the wild mushroom pizza, with four different mushrooms, and an olive pesto sauce base. Side dishes also entice: The Caesar salad, dressed up in fresh dressing, is quite tasty.
