In Short
Adam Fleischman of Bottlerock fame has helped extend his empire with a stylish, yet relaxing two-roomed space for vino and live music. A segmented wall divides the bar from the main dining area and performance space, where a young, well-turned-out crowd enjoys well-priced wines, tuneful performers, and admires the ornamental bottles attached to the wall. An assortment of gourmet cheeses highlights a short menu. A handful of wines are always available by the glass, and there is an extensive list of bottles, with California, France, and Italy particularly well-represented.
Hits: In a town where $18 glasses of mediocre cab have become depressingly common, the prices are quite reasonable. The live jazz, blues, and classical music create a festive but elegant atmosphere.
Misses: The service can be inattentive, and the menu is spartan in comparison with food-centered tapas bars.
