In Short
At the intersection of La Cienega and Holloway Drive lies this corner nook, raised just a few feet above the street, but feeling a world away from the bustling traffic below. Hailing from the South of France, where the family-owned spot has been serving gourmet organic salads, quiche, crepes and desserts for over a decade, this petite cafe is where Angelenos looking for fresh salads and a quaint scene can come to relax and enjoy the view. Daily soups and quiche of the day are listed on the chalkboard while the menu--which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner--spans from croissants and eggs to some 14 different salads, like the L'assiette Maribeau, a colorful creation of seasonal greens, proscuitto ham, tartine de poilane (French bread baked in a fire oven), goat cheese, fried potatoes, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
