In Short
Serious diners arrive early, before young, carefully disheveled Hollywood crowds clog the center aisle and vintage Michael Jackson hits the turntables. Loosely translated, La Poubelle means ''trash bin,'' referring to the broad menu. Bistro dishes like pommes frites mingle with chicken marsala, shrimp scampi and farfalle. Escargot swims in garlic and butter, and salad chevre is a house favorite: baby greens topped with slices of Granny Smith apples, walnuts, vinaigrette and goat cheese.
