In Short
Ghosts of Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck and Julia Phillips may still be lingering over the legendary old Le Dome space, but they're making room for the modern Hollywood elite who now fill their reupholstered VIP booths. The name stands for Bistro Laurent Tourondel, not the sandwich, and it's a sister spot of the chef's acclaimed New York flagship. A crush of young Armani-clad agents, ''ER'' heartthrobs and pop star wannabes punctuate the caramel-toned banquettes and Macassar ebony tables, but the bustling see-and-be-seen lounge at the entrance and long raw bar showcases a lot more meat than the Black Angus and American Wagyu steaks. Sweet, plump Kumamoto and Malpeque oysters may not be needed for romantic persuasion after a few potent cucumber gin cocktails, but go ahead, indulge.
