The front dining room is all gallery-white walls decked with loopy technicolor 3D artwork, window-side tables made out of giant wine barrels and a small wooden bar, but the back-room patio is the prime place for a candlelit evening. Lilly's menu is classic French bistro with simply prepared dishes. Flamiche is a tangy tart of goat cheese and stewed leeks, and the salade de tomates (thickly sliced, ripe tomatoes swathed in a light garlic and parsley vinaigrette) is refreshing. A classic Belgian dish, moules frites, is a large bowl of black mussels steamed in white wine, shallots and herbs. Canard a la lavande, a roasted duck breast in a lavender sauce, is rich and tender, and cote au filet is served with a textbook Bearnaise or black pepper sauce.
