The Scene
Old-fashioned charm, intimate booths and comfortable tables make LG's ideal for special occasions. Decor is upscale, but the dress code is flexible to accommodate the weather; some diners sport T-shirts and shorts in summer, while others dress up regardless of outside temperature.
The Food
The menu does veer slightly from red meat delicacies, but stick to steak for the best experience. Start with Caesar salad. Prepared tableside, servers mix ingredients into a fabulously large concoction that's more than sufficient for two people. Menu highlights include tender prime rib, which oozes with juicy flavor, and perfectly marbled 20-ounce porterhouse, known as the ''jewel in the crown,'' this flavorful cut is aged in an on-site facility. Unfortunately, LG's overstretches its expertise with escargot, which suffers from Parmesan-heavy sauce, a shortcoming also apparent in the cream spinach side dish. Desserts are good, not earth-shattering; crème brûlée cheesecake is more cheesecake than crème brûlée, and gloopy tiramisu is texturally challenged and unnecessarily rich.
