The Scene
Graffiti litters its surfaces. Worn, rickety, wooden tables accompany mismatched chairs while local regulars and college kids share space at the octagonal, gazebolike bar in the center of the room. No live music, no high-tech sound system, no pretentious signs or advertisements indicating where the place is, because after 17 years, people already know. You can't go anywhere else where the owners expect you to leave graffiti of your own.
The Food
The bar houses a limited, though premium, selection of draft beer, including Bass, Widmere Hefeweizen and Harp. If you can't find your beverage on tap, perhaps one of more than 20 bottled brews will satiate you. Take a moment to sketch some art or scribble a poetic verse and sample the spicy, half-pound Bob burger, made with garlic, Worcestershire and soy sauces. Other daily specials include rib-eye steak, pasta and baby-back ribs.
