The Scene
Located at Sanctuary, a resort on Camelback Mountain, this sophisticated restaurant draws a young clientele with Japanese-style decor and Asian-punctuated, American cuisine. The Jade Bar, the patio overlooking the infinity pool and the restaurant proper, all offer incredible views of surrounding mountains and city lights.
The Food
Although the food is often delicious, it doesn't have the same sexy impact as the restaurant itself--primarily because of its Zen-like simplicity. Fresh, steamed asparagus and smoky portobello mushrooms come drizzled with truffle oil and capped with shavings of Parmigiano-Reggiano. Ahi tuna, encrusted with sesame seeds and barely seared, shares plate space with steamed jasmine rice, bok choy and an earthy but piquant cilantro-cumin vinaigrette.
