Traditional Tea Ceremonies

Cream Tea $7.95
a specialty of devonshire, england, this tea is traditionally served in the late morning. a pot of strong breakfast tea accompanied by scones with fresh fruit, jam and devonshire cream.
Garden Tea $12.95
an american version of its english cousin, this tea was popular in spring and summer months when tea was taken outdoors to enjoy the lovely gardens of the period. hence, a pitcher of iced tea seemed appropriate. we offer assorted finger sandwiches, fresh seasonal fruit, and english shortbread and lemon curd, or scones and devonshire cream.
Children's Tea $6.95
this tea was traditionally taken in the nursery by children with their parents or nannies before bed. it consisted simply of a cup of cocoa or a spot of tea (with lots of cream). we have chosen assorted finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, lemonade, and a cookie bear with cream.
Afternoon Tea $18.00
with a minimum order of at least two persons, please. also referred to as 'victorian or low tea', it has been marketed in larger hotels inaccurately as 'high tea". afternoon tea was the most traditional of the victorian teas. usually served in the late afternoon, this tea consisted of small sandwiches filled with cucumbers or potted meats, assorted cheeses, and a pastry of sorts. our variation includes a pot of tea, traditional scones, assorted finger sandwiches, fresh fruit and candied nuts, and delicately finished with your choice of a plate of petite sweets or a slice of cake.
High Tea $0.00
price per person varies according to menu offered, originally most popular among england's new "middle class", this tea was of much heartier fare, distinctively different from the delicate victuals of afternoon tea. its menu might include welsh rarebit, meat pies, hearty potatoes, soups, salads, pints of ale, and of course dessert. our version is offered on the third thursday of each month by reservation only. we invite you to enjoy sunset at the square, then relax and enjoy the rest of your victorian evening as the table remains yours until the last of our four courses have been served to you by candlelight.
