The Scene
Chris Bianco's commitment to a simple menu featuring fresh, local ingredients earned his downtown pizzeria a national reputation. Applying the same approach to sandwich making has made his uptown lunch spot an instant success. Office workers, downtown artists and neighborhood residents order at an inside counter, wait for brown-bagged meals and dine outside at umbrella-shaded picnic tables with views of distant Camelback Mountain.

The Food
This is sandwich making elevated to a fine art. Wholesome, often organic, local ingredients are piled generously on delicious, home-baked breads. A small menu lists four sandwiches, two salads and assorted beverages. Microbrewed and classic-brand sodas are displayed in a glass case. The mozzarella sandwich with Bianco's own freshly made cheese, crisp local tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and fresh basil is nothing short of sensational. Salads include the delicious tuna on local organic greens, and the creamy mozzarella, local tomato and basil salad.
